Sebastian Vettel says that his first impressions of the 2019 Ferrari challenged have now been confirmed after the third day of pre-season testing in Barcelona.
Ferrari had a strong start to the 2019 testing, Vettel having finished fastest by more than 0.5s on the first day, and Charles Leclerc following up by being fastest on day two as well.
Vettel set a time good enough for P3 on the leaderboards on Wednesday and managed to accrue even more mileage, taking Ferrari’s total laps done to 460 in just three days.
“It was good to be back in the car today and put some more mileage under my belt,” Vettel said.
“Again, we had a busy day and managed to complete our programme, which included a few new items, compared to Monday.
“We tried a few things around also focusing on set-up and I can only confirm the positive impression I had on day one.
“Having now put 303 laps in the bag I feel comfortable to say we are satisfied with how the car is progressing.”
Daniil Kvyat managed to set the fastest time on Wednesday for Toro Rosso, but, today we have Leclerc back in the SF90, will he manage to get top spot for Ferrari for a third time in 4 days? We shall wait and see.
