Bentley customer racing team Petri Corse, which will defend the colors of the British legendary maker in the International GT Open this year, has officially nominated the driver pair for the leading car. It will be composed of Meindert Van Buuren and Petru Răzvan Umbrărescu
Dutchman Meindert Van Buuren (24) is resuming his racing career, which has seen him so far involved mostly in single-seaters up to AutoGP, F.Renault 3.5 and GP2.
Romanian Petru Răzvan Umbrărescu, also 24, joins from two successful seasons in GT4 Europe in 2018 and 2017 (where he was a Pro-Am runner-up) and has raced also in the 24 Hours series. He will be the first Romanian ever to make it to the level of GT3 Racing.
The Florence-based squad directed by Simone Petri will soon take delivery of a new second-generation Continental GT and will start the season at Paul Ricard with the car previously used in the Italian GT. It plans to field a two-car entry as from the Hockenheim round.
