Andre Lotterer sealed his first FE pole position in a dramatic qualifying session in the latest round of the ABB Formula E championship taking place in Rome.
Following a short rain shower which took place just before the Super Pole shootout, the DS Techeetah driver took advantage of the constantly improving conditions and his being the last driver to go out during the session helped him in winning his first ever Formula E pole position.
His final time was 0.360s faster than Mitch Evans’ who finished the session in P2 for Jaguar. The only other driver with a time within a second Lotterer’s benchmark was Jose Maria Lopez and he will start the race from third.
Former F1 driver, Stoffel Vandoorne impressed yet again in qualifying and grabbed fourth for his team, HWA. Behind him will line upMaximilian Gunther and Sebastien Buemi.
Hong Kong winner, Edoardo Mortara was once again the fastest of the two Venturi drivers and finished the session in seventh narrowly missing out on the Super-pole shootout.
Robin Frijns took eighth place while Alex Lynn and Pascal Wehrlein filled out the top 10.
