Our appreciated colleague Paul Athes has decided to leave the GP24.ro contributors team in order to pursue his personal projects in the short term future.
Paul has been a regular contributor to almost every website related to motorized sports in Romania over the last years. Even though opinions may vary he has made a significant contribution to the promotion of Motorsports in Romania with the numerous articles he has written on various subjects such as MotoGP, Superbike, Motocross, Formula 1 and other International series.
Paul has announced that he has detected major changes in the interest of the Romanian public and wishes to address these interests with his new project(s) One of the many projects Paul has talked about pursuing is a Romanian version of Top Gear where Paul Athes seeks to fill the big shoes of his British colleague Jeremy Clarkson. Obviously Paul has not disclosed the full project to us but we can tell you it is looking very promising. Not having a driver’s license like Jeremy Clarkson is not an issue that stops Paul as he has managed to attract 2 top drivers from the Romanian Timis region in George Marinescu for tests on 4 wheels and Vlad Neaga for tests on 2 wheels. Testing grounds are to be provided by VIK Power in Arad and the co-operation of several car and motorbike brands are being pursued at this very moment.
With an ever-growing interest in objective testing of cars and bikes we can certainly imagine the interest in this digitally available series (probably YouTube and a dedicated website) will be significant.
GP24 wishes Paul Athes all the success in the pursuit of this new project as well as his desire to organize large scale sports events in the future and wants to use this occasion to thank him for his contribution to the success of GP24.ro
