The second test session of team AcademyGP took the team to Misano World Circuit.
Jacopo Hosciuc and Edoardo Savioli both having their seasonal debuts in the PreMoto3 class on brand new Racetech PreMoto3 bikes powered by Yamaha handled themselves very well. While for the Romanian GP24 rider it was a question of improving his knowledge of the new 4-stroke bike after having had an excellent season in the 2 stroke 125cc class finishing as vice-champion in the Italian Championship. For his team-mate, the Italian Edoardo Savioli it was a real maturity test. The thirteen-year-old champion of the 12-inch Pit-Bike class completed more than 50 laps during the 2 day test at Misano. With the support of his father on the track and the whole team in the pits, Edoardo made his debut on a world-class track, shaving of seconds and then tenths of his laptimes, resulting in a personal best lap of 1.53.40.
A whole different story for Jacopo. The test for him was planned to be only 1 day on March 12th. An excellent progression led him to his personal best lap of 1.51.80 making him the fastest PreMoto3 rider of this test session. The rain of the day before test caused the circuit to be only slightly rubberized and did not allow Jacopo to make further progress in terms of lap times. But Jacopo returned home with a great feeling and full of confidence in order to prepare for the first round of the CIV PreMoto3 Italian Championship that will take place in Misano the weekend of March 31st 2019.
The whole AcademyGP team truly enjoyed the spirit of the project. Team manager Roberto Marchetti and technical manager Gennaro Citarella said they were very satisfied with the choices made concerning the people involved, the technical choices and above all their riders.
